Malhaar is passion project which started its journey in 2008 in Dubai, UAE. Till 2016, Malhaar produced more than 10 Broadway-style Indian musical productions with over 100 expat artistes on stage – actors, dancers, visual artists, poets and playwrights. We created grand, Broadway-style musical productions. Be it ‘Rooh-e-Ishq’ or ‘Jashn-e-Awadh’ or ‘O Ganga’ or ‘Draupadi’, or “Haaye Akhtari”- every Malhaar production has received tremendous critical acclaim and have had packed houses.
To give a passion a purpose, in 2016, we started Malhaar Centre for Performing Arts, with an objective to provide quality education in Indian performing arts with state-of-the-art facility and experience.
Our mission is to make Indian performing arts accessible to the Indian expat community in its purest form through training, concerts, workshops and school programs.
Malhaar collaborates with schools and introduces Indian performing arts as a compulsory subject in several primary schools of UAE.
A guru shishya parampara style training at our centres in JLT and Bur Dubai for various Indian classical artforms. All training is affiliated to international bodies namely Prayag Sangeet Samiti, ISTD and Trinity.

Media professional by day and an art & cultural promoter by passion, Kruti is the co-founder of Malhaar. Kruti has been associated with Malhaar from the day it was conceived and an integral part of its journey from its very early days. She oversees marketing and key initiatives at Malhaar. Apart from Malhaar, Kruti works for a leading television network in the region.
Managing Partner
Chaitali Sarkar is an ex-banker, homemaker and a music enthusiast with interest in vocal music , instrumental music and traditional dance forms. She has lived in Dubai for over 25 years and is passionate about children’s participation in music from the early years. She is currently a managing partner at Malhaar and oversees finance and administration and is part of all key initiatives.

Jogiraj Sikidar has received extensive training in Hindustani classical vocal for over forty years in the Guru-Shishya Parampara of Kirana Gharana, under stalwarts like Pt. Mani Prasad, Smt. Kankana Banerjee, Smt. Shikha Ganguly, and Prof. Rita Ganguli.
A recipient of the prestigious Times Now NRI of the Year Award 2018 in the field of Art & Culture, Jogiraj Sikidar has more than 800 music concerts to his credit and has been teaching and performing Hindustani classical vocal and other forms for over thirty years.
He is the founder and director of the Malhaar Centre for Performing Arts, Dubai.
Piano & Keyboard
Deborshee Mukherjee is a thoughtful musician with a deep passion for the piano. He believes in pushing the boundaries of musical expression through experimentation with the instrument. Trained under the esteemed Shri Manab Bhattacharya and Acharya Jayanta Bose, Deborshee masterfully blends the intricacies of Indian classical music with the timeless elegance of Western classical traditions.
With extensive experience in teaching and music arrangement, Deborshee excels in integrating piano and keyboard learning into popular music, offering a practical and immersive approach to music education.
Guitar
Deborshee Mukherjee is a seasoned guitarist and dedicated teacher. With extensive experience in playing multiple musical instruments, he focuses on making learning both fun and innovative for his students. His strength lies in teaching how to effectively accompany the guitar with singing and other instruments, creating a harmonious blend.
A well-known figure in the Indian music community, Deborshee has collaborated with several celebrity artists and served as a mentor for reality TV shows, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and respected musician.
Sarod
Deborshee Mukherjee, a talented and versatile musician from Kolkata, India, is an esteemed scholar of the ITC Sangeet Research Academy. He has refined his craft under the guidance of the legendary Sarod maestro, Padma Bhushan Pandit Buddhadeb Dasgupta.
Deborshee’s Sarod playing is deeply soulful, with a particular focus on the Gayaki style, which emulates the nuances of vocal music. A multi-instrumentalist, Deborshee approaches music with a spirit of experimentation and fun, adapting his teaching methods to keep up with changing times.
Tabla
Deborshee Mukherjee is a seasoned musician, extensively trained in tabla and pakhawaj under the tutelage of Acharya Pandit Shankar Ghosh and Pandit Subhankar Banerjee for over 17 years. With a rich experience of more than two decades, he has been actively performing and imparting his knowledge to students.
His unique teaching approach focuses on shaping students into well-rounded, thoughtful musicians. He encourages them not only to master the craft but also to explore innovative ways to integrate music into the digital world, fostering creativity and modern applications of traditional art forms.
